Our goal is to raise $70,000 to send 15 families from the Lehigh Valley to

a respite camp which supports children with life threatening illnesses and their families. The camp has the distinction of being the only program in the nation whose mission is to address the impact of a life threatening illness on every member of the immediate family—the ill child, the parents, and the siblings and help provide free programs for children with cancer and their families

Pre-Registration

$30.00 8K till 3/3/12 (3/4 and up to date of event $35)

$20.00 5K till 3/3/12 (3/4 and up to date of event $25)

$ 5.00 1/2 mile fun run (registration does not increase for fun run, but registration will close when maximum participants is reached; no t-shirts for fun run participants)

To receive discount, all pre-registrations must be received by March 3, 2012 or will be charged the higher rate. Pre-registrants are guaranteed t-shirts and goodie bags. Late registrants are not guaranteed t-shirts or goodie bags.

Race-Day Registration (registration 3/4/12 up to and including 3/24/12)

$35.00 8K run / $25.00 5K walk / $5 1/2 mile fun run

Late registrants are not guaranteed t-shirts or goodie bags. Please print off registration form, complete and bring to the registration table between 7:00 am – 8:00 am if you are registering the day of the event. ** All same day registrants must pay by cash or check only. SELL OUT is high possibility. Register early and check back to website.

Team-Registration

Fees as above will apply based on date of registration. Teams will also receive prizes for top fundraiser and largest team participating.

Event Details

When: Saturday March 24, 2012

7:00 am – 8:00 am Registration and package pickup

Fruit and Snacks Available

8:00 am – 8:15 am Welcome

8:30 am 8K Run begins

Chip timing for runners and staggered start. Please be sure to include your pace time per mile on your registration.

9:15 am 1/2 Mile Fun Run begins

9:40 am 5K Walk begins

New course for the walkers!!!

Around 11:00 am Award Ceremony (when all walkers return)

11:30 am Post Race Refreshments

Where: Ironton Rail Trail located on Chestnut Street, Whitehall.

The start and finish lines will be located at the Coplay Parkway Pavilion, Front & Keefer Streets, Coplay PA.

CAR POOL if possible

**All pre-registrants are encouraged to pick up their registration packets on 3/22 between 3:00pm – 7:00 pm or Friday 3/23 between 10:00 am – 6:00 pm at Coplay Parkway Pavillion, Front & Keefer Streets, Coplay PA.

Honor/Memoriam Sign:

You can help us line the path with “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” for your loved ones. Please complete the form attached to registration, or if you are not participating but one to buy a sign, please submit the attached form. Cost per signage is $15 per name. Please be sure to indicate if this is In Honor or In Memory when you complete form on registration.

Parking:

Parking is at a premium. Signs will direct you to available lots and street parking …remember to car pool if you can. Main parking will be at the Coplay Parkway, Ironton Railtrail Railhead and Sayre Kilns. Check back for more info on parking. Please avoid parking in businesses lots unless they are listed here as participating parking locations. Do not park at the Giant grocery store.

Wheelchair and children friendly

5K participants with strollers must begin 5K at the back of the line

No dogs permitted on course

Strollers are not permitted in the 8K run

Description:

The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley hosts three main fundraisers each year: 8k Run/5k Walk in March, Golf Outing in May, Art Gala for childhood cancer awareness in September. All fundraisers help PCFLV continue to provide free programs and services to local families. This 8K Run/5K Walk in focuses on raising money to send local families to a one-week respire camp in Maine to help support and recharge the entire family during and throughout their diagnosis and treatment. Our first year, 2010 we were able to send six (6) families to Camp Sunshine. Our second year, 2011, we were thrilled to send 12 families to Camp. We are so excited and trhilled to continue to support our local families both wtih quality programs locally and the ability to send them to an amazing facility like Camp Sunshine annually. How many families can we send this year? Help us reach our goal of $70,000 to send 15 families in 2012!!!
