What PCFLV Does for Families
The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley is dedicated to supporting quality-of-life for children diagnosed with cancer in the greater Lehigh Valley and their families, as well as long-term survivorship and bereavement programs. All of our programming and events are offered at no cost to these families. We believe that a pediatric cancer diagnosis affects the WHOLE family, and our mission reflects that belief. We also believe that a family's experience with childhood cancer does not end when treatment ends. Because of that, PCFLV follows a continuum of care model, hoping to be a friend to families from the date their child is diagnosed forever forward.

If you or someone you know has a child diagnosed with cancer, is a survivor of pediatric cancer, or has lost a child to cancer, we encourage you to reach out to us and allow us to be part of your journey through the programming, events, and support we offer!

PCFLV is proud to provide the following programming, events, and support:
Chemo Circus and Golden Days
PCFLV proudly presents our Chemo Circus/Golden Days program. This program takes us to the inpatient pediatric floor once or twice a month. We provide children and their families with the opportunity to do a craft, pick a special gift, eat a warm meal and treats, and be entertained by our friend, Tootsee the Clown, as well as other special guests like Iron Pigs players and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt. These programs are designed to reduce anxiety and stress while the child undergoes chemotherapy treatment, blood draws, pokes, and tests. The ultimate goal: fun, laughter, and smiles! Chemo Circus/Golden Days is made possible by generous grants from Lauren's First and Goal and other foundations.
Art Soup
This once-a-month program allows both children diagnosed with pediatric cancer and their siblings to experience informal art therapy while being introduced to new and interesting art forms by local, accomplished artists. Many of these artists are resident artists at The Banana Factory on the southside of Bethlehem, the home of the PCFLV office. While the children get creative, eat pizza and snacks, and reinforce friendships, parents are treated to a meal at a local restaurant. This gives parents time for rest and relaxation, as well as the opportunity to share experiences with other parents if they so choose. Thank you to Crayola for generously supporting this program.
Date Nights, Family Fun Nights, and Moms' and Dads' Nights Out
On a regular basis throughout the year, PCFLV hosts special events for our families. We sometimes plan events for the whole family, while at other times we send mom and dad out on a "Date Night" while we entertain the kids! We also treat our moms to a special night of pampering in recognition of Mother's Day and send our dads out for a night of "guy fun" around Father's Day. These special events occur at locations throughout the Lehigh Valley and are often done in conjunction with a special sponsoring partner, like Leading Edge Martial Arts, Anthony Ashley Hair Design, and Roey's Paintbox Parties.
Camp Smile
Every summer, PCFLV works with The Coco Foundation to run a one-week day camp for local children with cancer, survivors, and siblings on the grounds of Cedar Crest College in Allentown. During this week of fun and friendship, campers get to experience art, sports, theater, swimming, and special guest appearances. Close attention is paid to the special needs of our campers; while at the same time, every effort is made to ensure a "normal" camp experience for our kids. This makes Camp Smile a unique, one-of-a-kind opportunity in the Lehigh Valley. Camp Smile is made possible by generous grants and donations from Air Products Foundation, Bill Sugra Memorial Fund, and Ai Orthodontics.

Big Top Circus
Summer wouldn't be complete without PCFLV's Big Top Circus! This carnival-themed event brings families together for fun and friendship within our community of support. Big Top Circus is filled with carnival games, prizes, food, and entertainment!

Finally, PCFLV does its part to promote awareness during the month of September, which is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month through a variety of activities, events, and campaigns. We want our community and the world to know about the battle our brave kids fight!
Caring and Sharing Support Groups
In cooperation with The Community Voices Clinic of Bethlehem, PCFLV facilitates support groups for parents, children in active treatment, bereaved families, and siblings.
Financial Support
PCFLV recognizes that every family faced with a pediatric cancer diagnosis suffers some degree of financial hardship. Whether parents need to stop working or cut back hours in order to care for their child or medical bills add up, a little extra financial support goes a long way. We provide this support through gift card donations to families, most often gas, grocery store, or hospital cafeteria gift cards.
